As one of the five original First Growths (Premiers Crus) of the 1855 Classification, Haut-Brion is unique for being the only estate located in the Graves region (specifically within the sub-appellation of Pessac-Léognan) rather than the Médoc. It is widely considered one of the most intellectually complex and aromatically singular wines in the world.

At over 30 years old, this bottle is fully mature. Haut-Brion is renowned for its distinctive "Graves" character—a unique smoky, earthy, and mineral-driven profile that sets it apart from the more cedar-heavy profiles of Pauillac.

The Highlights

  • Vintage: 1992

  • Region/Appellation: Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, France

  • Producer: Domaine Clarence Dillon (Château Haut-Brion)

  • Grape: A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc.

  • Style: Fully mature, savory, and aromatically complex Red Wine.

  • Tasting Profile: An exquisite and sophisticated nose of dried blackcurrants, tobacco leaf, and smoked herbs, intertwined with secondary notes of scorched earth, leather, and truffle. The palate is medium-bodied and graceful, with fully resolved tannins and a long, savory finish.

    • Cheese: Mature, nutty cheeses like an aged Comté or a mild, high-quality Brie.
