This is a monumental Grand Cru benchmark from one of Burgundy's most legendary historical sites: the Domaine Louis Jadot Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 1999. Sourced from estate-owned plots in this famously south-east facing, limestone-rich slope, Clos de Bèze is celebrated for combining the profound, muscular structure of Gevrey with an unparalleled, soaring aromatic finesse. The iconic 1999 vintage in Burgundy is widely regarded as one of the greatest red vintages of the modern era, producing wines of extraordinary concentration, natural balance, and incredible cellaring potential. Now entering a glorious plateau of peak tertiary maturity after nearly three decades in the cellar, it opens with a complex bouquet of dark cherries, black raspberries, and plum preserves, layered with signature notes of woodsmoke, dark soy, exotic spices, leather, truffles, and forest floor. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied, rich, and power-packed, where initial firm structural tannins have melted into a velvety texture, backed by a vibrant line of freshness that carries into an endlessly long, noble, and savory mineral finish.
