This is a classic, deeply structured Pauillac benchmark from one of the Médoc’s most revered estates: the Château Lynch-Bages 2006 (5ème Cru Classé). Sourced from the deep gravel soils of the Bages plateau, the 2006 vintage marks a classically proportioned, firm, and aristocratic release overseen by the Cazes family. Now resting comfortably in a generous drinking plateau, this vintage has softened its youthful austerity while maintaining superb structural spine and freshness. The nose opens with a textbook Pauillac bouquet of crème de cassis, black cherries, and ripe blackberries, layered with cedar pencil shavings, cigar box tobacco, damp gravel, dark cocoa, and dried herbs. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied, muscular, and savory, framed by refined, melted tannins and a classic line of graphite-driven acidity that leads to a long, balanced, and mouthwatering finish.
