This is an exceptionally rare, highly coveted white Burgundy cult release from Vosne-Romanée master Jean-Yves Bizot: the Domaine Bizot Morey-Saint-Denis Blanc Monopole "Clos de la Bidaude" 2022. While the 1.3-hectare walled monopole is predominantly planted to Pinot Noir, Bizot crafts an exceedingly tiny, micro-production white from a tiny 0.3-hectare plot of Chardonnay planted in 1991. Farmed with strict organic methods and vinified with Bizot’s legendary, non-interventionist approach—incorporating direct pressing, aging in neutral oak barrels for approximately 18 months, and zero added sulfur—this bottling represents one of the most remarkable, razor-sharp white expressions in the entire Côte de Nuits. The warm yet energetic 2022 vintage yielded a wine of thrilling tension, crystalline purity, and vibrant mineral energy. The nose opens with an intoxicating bouquet of fresh white peach, citrus zest, and lemon oil, layered with fine matchstick reduction, wet stone minerality, and a delicate saline sea-spray lift. On the palate, it is racy, vibrant, and beautifully structured, balancing a pure, focused mid-palate fruit core with electrifying acidity and a long, chalky, mouthwatering finish. Only 271 bottles have been made in 2022.

Perfect for (food pairing): Butter-poached rock lobster or marron tails, pan-seared sea scallops with truffle butter, classic Dover sole meunière, or oven-roasted John Dory. Its vibrant line of natural acidity, pure stone fruit core, and saline mineral edge also make it an extraordinary pairing for a premium service of sturgeon caviar served on blinis, fresh oysters, roasted poultry with a chanterelle cream sauce, or a plate of well-matured hard artisanal cheeses like an aged Comté or Beaufort.
