This is an exceptionally rare, highly coveted Premier Cru from one of Burgundy’s ultimate cult benchmarks: the Domaine Sylvain Cathiard & Fils Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" 2022. Located on the steep, high-elevation slopes directly above the legendary Grand Cru La Romanée, the tiny "Aux Reignots" climat is celebrated for producing Pinot Noir of immense energy, stony minerality, and aristocratic finesse. Under Sébastien Cathiard’s meticulous direction, the domaine has reached the absolute stratosphere of demand, defined by precise destemming, thoughtful use of fine French oak, and stunning textural precision. The youthfully vibrant 2022 vintage—characterized by natural concentration and superb freshness—opens with a kaleidoscopic, pure bouquet of wild black cherries, dark raspberries, and damson plums, seamlessly layered with dried violets, exotic spices, forest floor sous-bois, and a distinct, mineral-laden crushed limestone energy. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied and incredibly focused, wrapping a sapid, tightly coiled core of dark fruit in ultra-fine, pixelated tannins and an electric spine of limestone acidity that carries into an endlessly long, perfumed, and brilliantly mineral-driven finish.

Perfect for (food pairing): Pan-roasted squab with truffle reduction, roasted Bresse pigeon, roasted venison loin with a juniper berry glaze, or slow-roasted rack of lamb with a garlic-herb crust. Its exquisite floral perfume, mineral energy, and complex spice also make it an extraordinary companion for slow-cooked duck breast with cherry reduction, pan-fried quail, wild mushroom risotto, or a curated plate of mature artisanal cheeses such as an aged Comté, Saint-Nectaire, or Époisses.
