This is the highly compelling, ultra-limited debut release of the 'Mari Magno' Pinot Noir from the visionary estate, Place of Changing Winds. Founded by renowned Australian wine importer and author Rob Walters, this single-site vineyard is located at an altitude of over 500 metres in the cold foothills of Victoria's Macedon Ranges. The estate has gained massive cult acclaim for its painstaking, labor-intensive organic farming and extreme, high-density plantings (reaching up to 33,000 vines per hectare). The name 'Mari Magno' is Latin for "rough seas" (inspired by the Roman poet Lucretius), a proud nod to the intense viticultural challenges thrown down by this cool, high-diurnal-range site.

Perfect for (food pairing): Fine roasted quail or duck breast with a light berry reduction, pan-seared squab, or herb-crusted pork loin. Its complex herbal tones, bright acidity, and earthy profile also make it a spectacular match for wood-roasted wild mushroom risottos, truffled pasta dishes, slow-cooked game birds, or a selection of semi-hard artisanal cheeses like a mature Comté or Gouda.
